Playing Hookey!

When I got up today, it was cloudy and chilly out. My favorite type of day to go to my favorite little historic town. So I called in "sick"and got myself ready to go shopping!! First, of course, was a trip to Starbucks for a hot chocolate to keep me company on the drive there. I love this town especially during the fall and winter months. Today, all the shops were decorated up with lights and trees - filled with all kinds of sweet items. I wanted almost everything I saw - LOL! But due to money issues, I had to limit myself. I got a few things, including this little ornament in the picture - it says "Letters to Santa". I loved it, and can't wait to see it hanging on my tree. I found a few other little primitive ornaments, some vintage looking garland that you can also see in my picture, some battery operated primitive "candles", including one (not shown) that I will clip to the top of my tree as a tree topper. I also picked up a couple of pieces of fabric for when I make some of my cross-stitched items into pillows. I stopped at my favorite restaurant there and got my regular table by the window. It was so pretty sitting there looking out while eating and reading. I had a small bowl of spicey chili - yum! After leaving the little town, I drove over to a cross-stitch store and did some more shopping - again, not as much as I would have liked! LOL! And then got another cup of coffee for the drive home. A very nice day!

Linda, I'm so envious since I've been there with you before. I wish I could have gone again this time to enjoy the Christmas items... and to have some quiche at a table by the window :)
