Dear Friday....

Linking up with http://smidgensbitsandsnippets.blogspot.com/ for Dear Friday...

Dear Snowplow Driver... I really appreciate your plowing our street. However, if I can't get out of my driveway because you pile all the snow up in front of it - it doesn't do me a lot of good to have a clear street (snort)!

Dear Café Lady at Barnes & Noble Café - I believe when I say "thank you", your response should be "you are welcome" - not "no worries"....

Dear Lady In Parking Lot - please don't wait until I'm right in front of your SUV and then start your engine. I think I saw my life flash before my eyes - you scared me so badly!

Dear Mom...I wish I could have been back in Ohio to celebrate your birthday with you on Tuesday.  But it was nice talking to you for a few minutes - even if you did not really know who I was.... I miss "you"!

I hate it when the snowplow does that. And it is crazy what manner people do not have now. Just simple thank you and you are welcome seem to have disappeared. Happy belated birthday to your mom. I can only imagine how much you miss her.

The non-appropriate response that really annoys me when I say "thank you" is "no problem." Well, I should hope that waiting on my wasn't the potential for creating a problem!

I liked your letters this week :) At least you didn't hear the "you welcome". That really does it for me...

Hi Linda! I bet you miss your mom so much. My mom has Parkinson's Disease, and each time we talk, there seems to be more things that she doesn't remember. It is sad. Oh I just hate it when the snow plows to that! one year though, we got lucky on our street. One kind plow driver stopped and dug out the snow from our driveways before it froze solid. What a great guy! I enjoyed your letters today!

Dear Linda,

Thank you for checking on me. I finally posted an explanation. I've been sick with the flu and sick of the snow but still reading. I hope to be posting more regularly. I look forward to spring. By the way, when I say thank you, I hate to hear "no problem." Of course it's no problem; it's your job. duh.

"No worries" or "no problem" are pet peeves of mine also! Your letter to your Mom made me bit misty-eyed. I'm so sorry you have to miss "her" and hope you have plenty of loving, happy memories to get you through the tough not-remembering times.
