My very meager beginnings on a new shawl.  (I have done a bit more of it since I took this picture)!  It is called "Great Divide" (on Ravelry).  So many people said how easy it is to do. I've heard that many times (and they were wrongoooo)!  However, this time, they were right - it is easy - and I'm loving knitting it!!  I just finished this book yesterday.  The little boy in it (the Frank of the title) - will make you smile, laugh out loud, think, cry - touch your heart... or at least he did all that with me!

Hitchin' A Ride...

I finished my Hitchhiker on Thursday!  I only did 32 "points" - instead of the 42 called for. I really didn't want to break into my other new skein of yarn (cause I wanna use it for something else)....  It was still a decent length. Then I blocked it - I made it "longer" - but took away a lot of the center "depth" - whaaaa!! So I reblocked it! Still can't get it looking the way it looks in this picture....  So if (and that is a big if) I make another one - I will do more "points" and just spray it and let it dry - with no actual blocking.....

I Don't Quilt...

but I truly enjoying looking at them and reading about them....in quilting books, in quilting magazines, etc etc!
 I own one quilt that I've always thought was made by my Grandmother, but it could have been someone else in her family....   I've always treasured it...
 I believe I would be great at designing the quilts - buying the fabric - even cutting it out...but the sewing and quilting part - forget about it! 
I just picked up this book last night at Barnes & Noble...

I was trying to remember the title of a book recently.  I just could not get it into my brain. I googled and googled and finally found it.  The title
"Remember Me"....

and then a few weeks ago, I was trying to remember the name of a knitting pattern. After much searching, I found it.  The name of the pattern? 
"Memory Lapse"...

A tip for you - do NOT use a knitting needle to scratch your ear. And if you do, don't walk around while doing it!  Unless you want to go to urgent care...  just sayin'....
