"A" Is For Alzeheimer's Disease....

My Mommy is the one on the right - in the leopard top. She always has loved animal prints!(the one on the left is my Aunt - my Mom's sister)...  My Mom has been dealing with the ravages of Alzeheimer's disease for the past 9 years or so.  It slowly has gotten worse as time goes by.
It has robbed her of so many things - her memories - of her previous life - of us kids - her love of reading....  My Dad (who turns 90 this year) - is still taking care of her.  I wish I lived back in Ohio so I could help him out - and of course - see my Mom more... because even if she no longer knows who I am - I still know who she is....

I think Alzheimer's has to be the worst disease to be the caretaker of. It is so sad that they forget everyone they once knew. I am sorry about your mom! You look a lot like your mom and your aunt. They have beautiful white hair. I hope that is how mine looks someday. I am so happy you are doing a little A to Z of your own!!

your mom and aunt are beautiful! I am sorry about your mom but I know she knows who you are deep inside.

Linda, this must be so hard. It is hard enough when a parent dies but to watch them slowly slip away... I hope you get to see her often even though you are not living there.

Awwww Bless her heart. I know the struggle. Your mom looks amazing in that image.
I was just saying to my husband that the disease is so random in terms of what to expect next. Seems everyone does ALzheimers a bit differently.
