Hi Linda, thanks for visiting my blog and for the sweet comment. :) I've not read that book but will look it up to see if our library carries it. Oh, and in my own opinion, what makes a knitter is to knit. :) Have a blessed week! ~Lisa
I think like anything else it is what you want it to be. I know many people who knit only garter stitch or scarves and never want to learn anything else. They are no less a knitter to me than someone who makes complicated fair isle sweaters.
Thank you soooo much for saying this!!! I knit mainly scarves. But I also knit shawls (have many of those on the needles right now). Have made some hats and felted bags. Tried my hand at some fingerless gloves. Would love to learn how to knit socks! But I've never made a sweater. I don't want to make a sweater. I always get these looks at my LYS when they say - oh what are you making with that and I say - uh a scarf....(but many of the scarves I make are more "meaty" ones)... Oh, I did make a baby sweater once - took me a long time and many retries. And it ended up on my Cabbage Patch Doll with the sleeves knitted inside out - LOL! Found out later that there was a mistake in the pattern!

No fancy knitting for me. I just like to knit washcloths, scarves, and shawls!
